Building Futures Through African Indigenous Knowledge

What if some of the solutions Africa needs for the future are already rooted in the knowledge of its people?

African Indigenous knowledge carries generations of lived experience, innovation, and wisdom. Today, AIKRN is bringing these knowledge systems into conversations around entrepreneurship, sustainable livelihoods, youth development, climate adaptation, and more.

With a growing network of 750+ participants across 40 countries, the conversation is expanding.

And something significant is coming.

From August 25 to 27, 2026, scholars, students, community members, and knowledge holders from around the world will gather for the 2nd Annual International Conference of AIKRN.

Expect new perspectives.
Expect challenging conversations.
Expect ideas that could change how we think about Africa’s future.

But what happens when Indigenous knowledge moves from the margins to the centre of development?

You’ll want to be part of that conversation.
