Unlocking Sustainable Solutions for Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship through Indigenous Knowledge in Africa explores how African Indigenous Knowledge Systems (AIKS) can drive sustainable youth employment, entrepreneurship, and resilient livelihoods across the continent. Drawing on research conducted in Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Nigeria, and Uganda, the synthesis highlights the role of indigenous knowledge in sectors such as agriculture, agro-processing, traditional medicine, cultural industries, and tourism. It examines the barriers limiting indigenous knowledge-based enterprises, identifies opportunities for scaling their impact through supportive policies, financing, education, and digital innovation, and provides practical recommendations for policymakers, funders, and development partners seeking inclusive and sustainable economic development.
